C'était un (Lego) Rendez-vous

Now that all our back issues are fully retina optimised, we’re busily working away on the Summer 2012 issue. But when a GoPro HD2 rugged video camera arrives in the office, you have to take it for a spin.
Or, failing that, re-enact a famous short film using Lego men and a radio-controlled car.
So, with our sincere apologies to Claude Lelouch, here’s M. LeLego taking a breathless spin through London’s Carnaby Street to meet Mlle. LaLego as the sound of bells rings out from Montmatre.

The British Journal of Photography App has always been first and foremost about bringing beautiful images and video to the iPad. Today, thanks to Apple’s latest device, we can make those photos more stunning than ever.
Version 1.3 of the app, available now from the App Store worldwide, supports the new iPad’s Retina display, with high-resolution menus and controls.
But more importantly: iPad 3 owners can also download a new, Retina-optimised version of our latest issue. Spring 2012 contains hundreds of images, plus high-definition video, and they now look better than ever on the iPad 3’s display.
The Retina-ready version of the Spring issue will be automatically downloaded to devices that support it. This edition contains higher quality video and images, and so is a larger file that will take longer to download, but we hope you’ll find the quality worth the wait.
The change in resolution will have no impact on iPad 1 and 2 owners, who will still have access to the smaller, standard issues.
UPDATE
The Autumn 2011 and Winter 2011 issues of the BJP for iPad – in both full and preview versions – have now been completely updated to support retina.
If you own an iPad 3, but have previously downloaded the lower-resolution versions, please follow the instructions below to update to Retina at no charge:
1) Quit the BJP app and open Newsstand. Press and hold on the app cover then, when a red X appears in the corner, tap that to delete the app.
2) Download the app again from the App Store
3) Once installed, visit the Library menu and tap the ‘Missing Issues’ button to unlock your purchases.
4) Download the issues you want – you will automatically be delivered the Retina version.
